For me, my dad’s words gave me permission to explore as many different paths as I could. Now six decades into it, what stands out as important are the times you walk with God, sometimes with confidence, other times with shaky faith, going in the direction where you think He’s leading and trust He will bless, or correct, or protect, or teach.

 

In years of ministry, I’ve left my heart all over the globe—mostly by sharing God’s Word through Christian radio and publishing with people I’ll meet around the table in heaven someday. The path has been unexpected and amazing, with still more to explore, and exciting even this week.

 

The secret, I’m learning, is taking that next step with Jesus, as Dad advised. Let God's Word build your confidence in what you hope for, things you are certain of, but cannot see. Follow every thread and you’ll find Jesus. Follow Jesus and you’ll find life.

 

Along the way, look for the people with that same heart to do it with you. And together, walk each other home.
